Columbia’s Todd Lewis joins board of directors at Build Carolina

South Carolina-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization Build Carolina today announced the addition of Todd Lewis, founder of All Things Open, to its Board of Directors. He will contribute a three-year term as part of the organization, which serves to advance South Carolina’s tech community through demand-drive training, connection and support. 

Lewis joins seven other members, including Columbia-based Matt Vaadi, founder and CEO of guHRoo and board president for GrowCo Columbia. 

“For years I’ve watched Build Carolina do some amazing things in the areas of tech talent and education,” Lewis said. “I’m thrilled to now join the board and make a contribution myself. It’s a wonderful organization and a tremendous asset for the State of South Carolina.”

Todd has been in the technology space for almost 20 years. He’s worked for and with large consulting firms, Fortune 500 and 1000 companies, a technology nonprofit, and he’s operated many companies of his own. He created and runs All Things Open, the largest open source technology conference on the U.S. east coast, and he’s created multiple other tech events of all shapes and sizes. On a daily basis he creates, builds and runs technology communities, events and companies, and in the process, creates opportunities for people around the world.

Build Carolina is a 501(c)3 nonprofit Build Carolina that creates and sustains talent initiatives to support innovative companies across the Carolinas. It currently runs three programs - Carolina Code School, SC Codes, and Develop Carolina
