Build Carolina announces new board members

GREENVILLE, S.C. - (February 19, 2020) - South Carolina-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization Build Carolina today announced the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors: Patrick Bryant, Partner at Code/+/Trust; Tara Daly, Operational Lead, Mobile Product Design at BMW Group;  and Anthony Herrera, Executive Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Furman University. Each will serve a three-year term.

The new board members join founding board members John Moore, CEO of Momenteum Strategies, Eric Dodds, Managing Partner of Yield Group, and Lelia King, Executive Director of Build Carolina. 

“Build Carolina has seen incredible growth in the last two years with programs like Carolina Code School and SC Codes, and we are excited to welcome such fantastic expertise in education, technology and entrepreneurship,” said John Moore, board chair. “We couldn’t ask for three more qualified individuals to help set the vision for the next three years than Patrick, Tara and Anthony.” 

Patrick Bryant is a Partner in Code/+/Trust software development firm, Teamphoria (human resource engagement software), Bidr (fundraising event software), Go To Team (broadcast video services), ADesk (crew production directory software) & Shine Rolling Papers. Bryant feels strongly about making South Carolina a better place to work as an Entrepreneur. He serves as a Trustee of Trident Tech, on the SC Department of Workforce & Employment Workforce Review Committee, chairs the Harbor Entrepreneur Center, and was previously Chairman of Palmetto Goodwill and the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce. He’s recognized as a Liberty Fellow by Wofford College, a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network, and as a Riley Fellow granted by Furman University. 

Tara Daly is an experienced IT Project Manager, PMP®, and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. She has a demonstrated history of leading custom software development teams that create beautifully designed products and services. Known for delivering results for challenging global products through strategic collaborations and a commitment to operational excellence.

Anthony Herrera joined Furman in the summer of 2018 as the founding executive director of Furman Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Herrera most recently led a team responsible for Toyota Motor North America’s Executive Succession & Leadership Development. Prior to Toyota, Herrera served as Executive Director for SMU Cox Executive Education and launched a nationally recognized institute assisting the Fortune 1000 recruit, retain and develop Latino leaders. Herrera brings more than 15 years of experience in talent management and development for global organizations. Herrera earned his Master of Science in Accounting (2003) and BBA in Accounting (2002) from SMU Cox School of Business.

Build Carolina is a 501(c)3 nonprofit Build Carolina that creates and sustains talent initiatives to support innovative companies across the Carolinas. It currently runs two programs - Carolina Code School and SC Codes
